MUSINGS

Spring has brought a roller coaster of weather to Virginia and many other places it seems. We can start the day with the heat on and then switch to ac later or vice-versa!

Sometimes, it seems life is full of ups and downs, back and forths, starts and stops. How do we keep moving forward during those times when it seems hard?

For me, it helps to have a vision for what I want, what is important to me. That helps me get back on track when I get derailed or come upon a detour. Knowing where I want to go gives me direction.

There are times when I also stay in the moment and just feel the feelings. I give myself permission to be still, to not know, to rest. I don't move forward - or in any direction. I stop doing and just "be".

It isn't easy for me when I want to do so much! I have to remind myself that in the "Be"-ing, I find myself and my direction. I align with Source and allow inspiration to flow through me. Then, I know what is next.

Recently, my daughter asked what to do this summer. She is graduating from college, and planned to go to graduate school. After learning that she wasn't accepted at the only school she applied to, she cried, she wondered why, she considered her options. We talked and realized that her lack of work experience could be the reason she wasn't accepted. The question then become, "now what?"

Does she take the summer off and just enjoy it after working and going to school for so long? Does she continue doing an easy job or look for one in her field?

Logically, getting a job in her field makes sense. What I ask her was "What will make your soul happy? What do you need right now?"

I realize that I can't tell her what to do. I can ask questions and empower her to go within and listen to what is calling her. She is leaning into that.

That is what I do. As a mother, friend and coach, I ask the questions to empower people to find their truth, their passions, their purpose so they can bloom.

COOL RESOURCE

Here is what I am listening to right now: Amazon.com: Untamed (Audible Audio Edition): Glennon Doyle, Glennon Doyle, Random House Audio: Audible Books & Originals (not an affiliate - just sharing!)

It is a collection of essays by Glennon Doyle. She has a profound way of sharing her life experiences. I'm not always 100% in agreement with her, but I am always amazed at her insight and courage to share her truth.

I think it is important to listen and to read things that give us a different viewpoint than the one we currently hold because it helps us grow and hopefully expands our thinking and understanding if we are open to that. Having an open mind and open heart is a great way to approach life!

If you decide to check it out, let me know your thoughts!
