Happy New Year!

Are you excited about the possibilities the new year brings?

There is something about the beginning of a year that feels like an opportunity to me! Sometimes, though, I also get those nagging thoughts about "How is this year going to be different? How am I going to live my purpose and serve in all the ways I feel called without feeling overwhelmed?" 

Do you ever have that happen? Where you get all in your head and worry or wonder about how you life is going to be this year and whether or not you are up for it all? 

Our mind can keep us stuck in a loop, replaying our history or worrying about our future. For me, the best way to get out of that is to have a vision for what I went my life to look like, use affirmations and meditate. Meditation helps me relax into the moment and be present with what is rather than ruminate on the past or be anxious about the future. Affirmations and having a vision board both help me focus and put my attention on what I DO want, rather than what I don't want. 

Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith says that worrying is using our imagination to create what we DON'T want in our lives. Our imaginations are so powerful that it is important to harness them to imagine our ideal life! That way, we can keep our focus and attention on what it takes to create it!
